Metals USA is seeking a Buyer in Germantown, WI. Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented, carbon steel (plate, beam and tube) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace and fabrication industries.
The Buyer is responsible to develop, implement, and maintain sourcing and supply chain (mills and steel service center) strategies to meet material outsourcing requirements. The Buyer will procure a reliable flow of materials.
Essential Functions

Negotiates the price, quality, delivery, discounts and returns with the suppliers in an approved ethical manner and in compliance with company policy and governmental regulations.
Administers purchase orders for various metal materials, prioritizes work orders by delivery dates and meets customer delivery requirements.
Is responsible for monthly planning process that identifies items to be purchased and quantities to support contract customers and general transactional sales.
Works with sales team to manage inventory levels and assure inventory turns goals are met.
Provides timely information to corporate commodity managers regarding monthly mill planning.
Maintains records/files on the supply base and items purchased such as quotes, supplier quality, and supplier performance and item cost.
Communicates with Quality Assurance to resolves quality concerns between the supplier and customer. Assists with the satisfactory resolution of complaints and material discrepancies. Processes supplier rejects in a timely manner and obtains corrective actions as required.
Communicates and evaluates current & prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation, logistics, inventory control and management.
Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a Buyer.
Adheres to Reliance Steel and Aluminum's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or relevant course of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to interface effectively with all departments to foster a success-oriented, accountable organization.
Ability to communicate both oral & written effectively with internal & external vendors and customers.
Ability to negotiate and sources both ferrous and non-ferrous metal.
Ability to collect data, establish facts and purchase metals to ensure inventory goals are met and maintain accurate lead times.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex business documents.
Represents the management in a highly professional manner, exercises diplomacy and maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
Computer Literacy; Microsoft Office Products and ERP.
