Buyer

Job Summary:

The Buyer is responsible for activities that span the entire procurement cycle.

Essential Job Functions:

• Conducts price and cost analysis.
• Source and purchase goods and services for the company.
• Research potential suppliers and negotiate contracts and prices.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Identifies and resolves moderate to complex issues and problems on assigned subcontracts and purchase orders and makes recommendations to management
• Preform close-out activities
• Analyzes risks and identifies risk mitigations
• Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for replenishment.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure procurement needs are met.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases and expenses.
• Stay current with industry trends and market conditions.
• Follow up when expected responses are not received.
• Make and confirm updates to Baan.
• Communicate reschedules to production team.
• Resolve issue (i.e., unacceptable slips).
• Communicate rejections (suppliers).
• Address vendor issues (i.e., technical, questions).
• Work with appropriate depts and vendors to resolve issues and revisions on purchase orders.
• Handle routine expedites.

Skills Required:

• High School graduate or equivalent. College degree in business administration or related field of study a plus.
• Sourcing and purchasing experience.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without accommodation.
