Position Summary:
Join a publicly traded, Fortune 500 manufacturer as one of their Business Unit Controller. The position will oversee the finance and accounting activities. The BU Controller will establish financial tools and processes to monitor and enhance business performance, providing essential financial leadership to a global business. Our client is currently not supporting any type of sponsorships.
Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate all financial functions, including accounting, inventory, costing, tax, payroll, payables, receivables, treasury, and reporting.
Supervise the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate consolidated financial statements.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for all financial operations.
Lead and mentor the local finance team, including international finance managers, fostering a high-performance culture.
Build and develop an efficient finance team with relevant skills and competencies.
Analyze Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheets to support factory management in achieving financial targets.
Ensure the accuracy of global inventory records and analyze cost of goods sold in compliance with US-GAAP.
Track and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to inform cost reduction and profitability decisions.
Prepare and manage forecasts and budgets for direct material, labor, and overhead costs.
Maintain robust internal controls to ensure data integrity and compliance with corporate goals and SOX standards.
Develop and oversee the annual operating budget in line with the strategic business plan.
Liaise with bankers, auditors, tax advisors, lawyers, and other professional advisors.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
At least 10 years of related experience in controlling and finance within industrial/manufacturing companies, public accounting, or tax consultancy.
Proficient knowledge of financial statements, consolidation, and ERP systems focused on manufacturing.
**Must have extensive P&L/Cost Accounting experience!**
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated passion for continuous improvements and automated processes.
