Business Operations Manager

We are seeking a Business Operations Manager to join our team! The Business Operations (Bus. Ops) team owns a number of strategic responsibilities for Rescale, collaborating closely with the C-Suite, broader leadership team, Go-To-Market (GTM) leadership, Operations, Finance, and Product. You will work directly with Rescale’s leadership team to work on projects from design through execution; sample projects below:

Strategic Planning & Company Operations

  • Lead our annual strategic planning process, coordinating across the C-suite, Finance, and global leadership team to deliver an integrated company strategy & financial plan
  • Lead our quarterly planning & review process, including managing our Objective & Key Result (OKR) frameworks and leading Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s)

Strategic Initiatives & Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives across the domains of Finance, Product, GTM Strategy, and Operations
  • Work with Global Sales Leadership to deliver strategic & urgent GTM assessments and projects to support and drive Rescale’s commercial growth
  • Derive and manage primary GTM targets and KPIs across the business

Business Analytics & Intelligence

  • Design, monitor, and report out on key financial & operational KPI’s for the business
  • Assess functional operating models and recommend process improvements

Sample projects and initiatives that you will work on:

  • Lead the 2025 annual strategic planning process, coordinating across the executive team and the Sales, Product, Marketing, and Finance teams to determine strategic priorities, company targets, and headcount investments for the annual period
  • Run the company Quarterly Business Review (QBR) meeting, including preparing and presenting the introductory section that highlights company performance results and corresponding insights and suggested actions to a company-wide audience
  • Complete ownership and management of the GTM analytics suite and financial models, with a focus on continuous improvement around results forecasting, target setting, and sales capacity planning
  • Manage Rescale’s quarterly planning process by collaborating with each department lead to formulate quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKR) across the company
  • Act in a project management capacity for critical executive initiatives around efficiency, service strategy, and operational improvements

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of total work experience required, including a minimum of 2 years of experience at a Professional Services firm (management consulting, financial services etc.)
  • Experience with the technology industry or with a high growth tech startup preferred
  • Excellent spoken & written communications abilities, including executive level presentation building and delivery
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; significant quantitative analytics experience (Advanced Excel & Gsheets)
  • Demonstrated experience & success working in cross-functional environments and interacting with senior leaders
  • Ability to lead projects autonomously and manage stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision
  • People Management experience is not required

  • Direct Manager: Patrick Duff, VP, Head of Business Operations and Pricing Strategy
    • Leads Business Operations & Pricing Strategy sub-functions for Rescale
    • Patrick launched the Business Operations sub-function at Rescale in 2020 as he transitioned from a Chief of Staff to the CEO role, and expanded the team’s mandate to include Pricing Strategy in 2021
    • BOPS rolls up into the broader Operations umbrella, and works directly with the executive team, Finance, and Product to deliver cross-functional projects
  • Pricing Team: Shraddha Mense, Pricing Strategy Manager
    • Business Operations works closely with the adjacent Pricing Strategy team to deliver joint business outcomes
  • VP of Operations: Gabe Rothman
  • COO: Matt McKee
  • CFO: David Si
    • Business Operations teams with Finance on business forecasting and annual planning among other critical tasks

This is a fully remote position with no expectation of being in-person at the office. You must be based in a city in North America and be able to work in one of the EST-PST time zones. Travel is minimal; you are only expected to travel for team and company off-sites and workshops (~1-3 trips per year).

Compensation packages at Rescale are determined based on candidate leveling and geographic location. The base salary for this position ranges from 150,000 to 175,000. The successful candidate will receive company equity in addition to this.
