Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and analytical Business Intelligence Analyst specializing in finance to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in providing insights and strategic recommendations based on financial data analysis, reporting, and visualization. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of finance, and proficiency in business intelligence tools and technologies.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
    • Develop automated reports and data visualizations to enhance decision-making processes.
  • Financial Modeling and Forecasting:
    • Build and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
    • Conduct variance analysis and scenario planning to assess financial performance and forecast future outcomes.
    • Provide insights into financial trends and implications for business strategy.
  • Performance Analysis and Optimization:
    • Evaluate financial performance metrics, including profitability, margins, and return on investment (ROI).
    • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue growth, and operational efficiency improvements.
    • Collaborate with finance teams to develop strategies and action plans based on data-driven insights.
  • Business Intelligence Tools and Technologies:
    • Utilize business intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView to create interactive dashboards and reports.
    • Develop and maintain data pipelines and data models to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
    • Stay updated on emerging BI trends and technologies to enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Strategic Decision Support:
    • Partner with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, to support strategic initiatives.
    • Provide ad-hoc analysis and decision support on financial performance, investment opportunities, and risk assessment.
    • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Continuous Improvement and Process Enhancement:
    • Identify process improvement opportunities within financial reporting and analysis processes.
    • Streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Document procedures and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance with reporting standards.
Compensation: Compensation for a Business Intelligence Analyst (Finance) typically includes a base salary ranging from $70,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and the size of the organization. Additional benefits may include performance-based bonuses, health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.

Skills Required

  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and financial statement analysis.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data visualization techniques.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, CBIP) may be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Financial Analyst, or in a similar role involving financial data analysis and reporting.
