The Business Director serves as an agency team leader, oversees an account group, acts as a key advisor and partner to senior clients, grows new business, and serves as catalyst and champion of ‘impossible to ignore’ financial category work within the agency and with clients.

Responsibilities

Product:

  • Works with internal teams across disciplines to develop, craft and refine strategies to achieve client goals and sell breakthrough creative work and communication solutions
  • Understands all key DDB resources and brings together the optimal mix to produce exceptional results for our clients.
  • Serves as a strong business and strategic consultant both internally and externally to guide client initiatives and fuel growth

People

  • Embodies the DDB values of talented and nice, and fosters exceptional teamwork and collaboration among DDB and clients.
  • Inspires and grows agency staff, and helps to coach and manage team to maximum potential
  • Works closely with HR to attract and retain top-notch talent for agency, facilitate performance reviews and set goals for the group
  • Cultivates an atmosphere that embraces diversity and inclusion within the team and agency
  • Builds relationships of confidence and trust with the DDB Leadership team and all senior agency personnel

Partnerships

  • Serves as an indispensable partner/advisor to the clients on behalf of DDB—helping to lead and challenge their thinking, deliver thoughtful and innovative perspective/solutions, and build outstanding, trusted relationships
  • Takes a leadership role in understanding and uncovering client motivations/needs in order to deepen DDB’s position within the client’s organization

Profit

  • Seeks opportunities to advance the client relationship and build Agency business
  • Works to identify new growth opportunities and oversees new business pitches
  • Manages team finances, P&L, and actively partners with all departments to enhance profitability and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading multi-client relationships and teams in the financial arena and growing new business
  • Candidate must have 10+ years experience in account management
  • Exceptional leadership abilities and outstanding relationship-building and collaboration skills
