Business Development Consultant

Private Advisor Group, a Barron’s Top 10 RIA, is looking for a talented, high-performing professional to join our team as a Business Development Consultant (BDC). The BDC will support our culture of growth through direct recruiting and by partnering with our advisors and branches on recruiting opportunities. Responsibilities of the role include executing on strategic new store sales growth priorities, sourcing and closing new lead opportunities, and   establishing/deepening relationships with industry referral sources. Success will be defined by a variety of factors, such as: pipeline health, net profitability recruited, and quality of advisors recruited. This role reports directly to the Director of Business Development and can be a remote position. 

Key responsibilities in this role may include:

●       Working directly with the Director of Business Development to identify opportunities to promote and enhance the value we articulate to prospective advisors, advisor teams, and RIAs

●       Sourcing and developing a robust pipeline and advancing advisors through the Private Advisor Group sales cycle, to include the coordination of internal subject matter experts to assist in the sales process.

●       Developing key relationships with custodian BDOs, third party recruiting firms, RIA consultants, and other key centers of influence in order to bolster referrals to PAG

●       Consistently executing activities that drive success, such as direct calls, emails, social networking, office visits, and event networking to foster new referral relationships and candidate additions to the top of the sales funnel

●       Articulating the firm’s value to advisors, advisor teams, RIAs, and key external partners

●       Tracking and reporting on metrics to measure pipeline strength and source, successes, and opportunity areas to continually improve attracting the right advisors

●       Expanding the firm’s national footprint by deepening specific geographical markets

●       Partnering with Marketing to help develop campaigns, communications, and events that add value to prospective advisors and align with the PAG brand


To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

●       Track record of experience and success recruiting financial advisors into an RIA model; broker/dealer recruiting or RIA custody sales experience is highly preferred.

●       Experience and knowledge of the independent broker dealer market, RIA custodians, and wirehouse models.

●       Demonstrated pipeline management skills, with a strong ability to meet deadlines and goals.

●       Exceptional and compelling sales and relationship management skills

●       Established and developed relationships with key partners, COIs, and prospective advisors or firms.

●       Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.

●       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

●       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

●       Ability to work independently with attention to detail.

●       Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office and Salesforce).

●       Series 7 and Series 66 (or 63 and 65) required.

●       Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

●       Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
