Business Development Manager/Sales Manager - Remote | WFH

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

Exceed revenue objectives, including sports-related sales revenue targets, by impacting account executives and clients.

Develop, lead, and refine sales training for sellers in business development using traditional, digital, and other non-traditional marketing channels to meet client objectives.

Lead and train the sales team in evolving media trends, including digital audio, attribution, and data.

Develop, renew, and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and agencies to grow our sponsorship client base.

Hold the sales team accountable to all priorities, managing through both internal direct reporting relationships and peer groups to drive results.

Manage sports stations and play-by-play assets by adhering to policies regarding pricing, inventory, management, merchandising, commercial content, and competitive product protection.

Use data, scale, and resources to guide sound management and operational decision-making across the sales organization.

Create sales opportunities (audio, digital, experiential, etc.) that align with client needs and demand.

Manage financial metrics of the department, including pricing, inventory, expense management, and weekly revenue, pacing, and forecasting.

Monitor competition and trends in the market.

Entertain clients, including weekend and evening sports events.

Other duties as assigned; this position reports directly to the VP of Sales.

Qualifications

More About You:

3+ years of previous sales management experience in media (preferably audio and digital) with a strong background in business development, sports sponsorship, play-by-play, strategic account management, and a proven ability to generate concept-driven business not tied to ratings/efficiencies.

Proven track record of leading and inspiring a successful sales team through change and innovation, with a keen understanding of sports media sales and sponsorship best practices in today's changing environment.

Must be a sales leader with the skill and drive to motivate and inspire a sales team to success and contribute innovative ideas to generate revenue.

Goal-driven and creative, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

People-first manager capable of managing and motivating direct reports to achieve the best results.

Ability to travel and a willingness to help develop local, regional, and national business.

Strong background in strategic account management, sales training/leadership, pricing, and budgeting.

Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and organizational skills; high proficiency in Google Suite.

Experience using a CMS, preferably Salesforce, to manage teams.

High work intensity with the ability to manage various projects and deliver quality results on or before deadlines.

Positive attitude and a drive to win. Self-motivation is essential.

Exceptional presentation skills.

Highly skilled negotiator.

BS/BA degree preferred.

A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and proof of insurance (if the position requires the use of the applicant's own vehicle).

Additional Information

The anticipated starting base salary range for California-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $150,000 to $185,000 plus bonus. Salary will be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
