Location: Remote, business travel required


Company Overview

Palmstreet, backed by a top VC firm, is the leading live video shopping app dedicated to bringing unique and diverse products to our customers. As we expand our offerings to include a new category - crystals, we are looking for a Business Development Manager who will drive growth in this exciting new venture.


Role Summary

The Business Development Manager for the Crystal Category will be responsible for identifying and establishing relationships with key suppliers, developing strategies to introduce and market this new category, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience. This role requires a blend of market expertise in the crystals and gemstones industry, strategic planning, and execution to drive category growth and achieve business objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Cold call and engage with prospective sellers to explain the benefits of joining Palmstreet.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to launch and grow the crystals category.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and vendors in the crystals and gemstones market.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to create compelling product listings, promotions, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Engage influencers for campaigns to promote the crystal vertical on Palmstreet as well as advertise specific crystal sellers.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to gauge category success and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Represent the company in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build brand presence and supplier relationships in the crystals market.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, preferably in e-commerce or the crystals/gemstones industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and growing product categories.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passionate about the crystals market with a deep understanding of product trends and customer preferences.


Compensation:

  • OTE: $110k
  • $50-65k/year base salary dependent on experience and location, plus commission based on sales of newly onboarded sellers, plus bonus
  • Equity considered based on performance
