The Business Development Manager plays a critical role in driving the growth and expansion of the company's logistics services. This position involves identifying new business opportunities, building, and maintaining relationships with clients, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and execute effective strategies. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for achieving revenue targets, fostering partnerships, and staying updated on industry trends to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative in the logistics market.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:


  • Identify and target potential clients and markets for logistics services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the company's customer base.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.


Client Relationship Management:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Understand clients' business requirements and tailor solutions to meet their needs.
  • Regularly engage with clients to assess satisfaction levels and gather feedback for continuous improvement.


Sales and Revenue Generation:


  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing agreements with clients, aiming for mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales and revenue targets.


Collaboration and Strategy:


  • Collaborate with internal teams such as operations, finance, and marketing to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term business strategies and objectives.
  • Provide insights and feedback to leadership regarding market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.


Market Research and Analysis:


  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in the logistics sector.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.


Proposal Development:


  • Prepare and submit comprehensive and competitive proposals to clients.
  • Ensure proposals are aligned with clients' needs and company capabilities.



Reporting and Analysis:


  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market trends.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management to track progress and identify areas for improvement.


Qualifications and Requirements:


  • 5-6 years of proven experience in the Logistics and Transportation industry.
  • Experience in acquiring dry van freight.
  • Experience in acquiring refrigerated freight.
  • Experience in the drayage and warehousing spaces
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, supply chain management, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales tools to manage leads and opportunities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
