Business Development Manager

Position Summary:

In this role you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication with existing and potential clients and teaming partners, with the aim of continually improving on our market share and the company strategic plan. The manager achieves this by ensuring existing services maintain high levels of value to our customers primarily through personal relationships with clients and company execution teams; and by identifying, pursuing, and security new opportunities for projects, complimentary services, or geographic areas.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports Regional Manager and other executive staff to develop growth strategies and plans
  • Develops and maintains personal relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Communicates with existing and prospective clients Delta’s unique capabilities and character
  • Identifies and articulates client needs and new work leads
  • Develops strategies to meet or exceed client expectations, and evaluates company capabilities to achieve
  • Communicates to management sales activities/proposals and timing, including southern regional leadership management in project or client contract negotiations
  • Assists in the development of effective marketing and promotional literature
  • May be required to conduct “cold calls”
  • Must understand the sales process and be able to assist the close of sales
  • Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.
  • Recommend, Manage, and organize community events / fund raiser’s, Promotional advertising including shows or adds as approved by Reginal Manager
  • Help with recruiting as needed, communicate with recruiting manger as leads develop
  • Conduct & schedule business development meeting as directed by the regional manager.
  • Maintain the Southern Region Business development client log.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent; AND
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Construction related discipline.
  • Work Experience:
    • Five (5) years Construction, Energy industry related experience; AND
    • One (1) year experience in a variety of marketing and/or sales functions; AND
    • Two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory, management level or higher role.
  • License/Certifications: Current Driver License with clean driving record
  • Post Job Offer Requirements: Take and pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Information Systems: Fluent in information and workflow data base systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Must demonstrate strong work ethics and values, confidentiality, and impeccable character
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks and communicate between multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of business and management principles applied in strategic planning, resource allocation, production and profitability methods and contract compliance
  • Possess and in-depth knowledge of Oil and Gas industry, our services, and value proposition
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire and solidify profitable business opportunities
  • Proficiency in computer skills, typing, document formatting preparation and publication (Office suite, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written communication skills at a professional and executive level, both externally and internally
  • Excellent verbal communication skills at a professional and executive level, both externally and internally
  • Ability to gather and analyze information
  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, talk, and hear.

  • The employee will be required to frequently travel. Often driving long distances in day/night and flying commercially day/night.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual Acuity: must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.
