Business Development Specialist - Interior Design industry | New York
**Remote in New York City – ability to travel the market**

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our client’s team in New York and play a key role in expanding their presence in the luxury furnishings market. You will leverage your business development, client management, and sales expertise to develop current relationships with clients and expand to new businesses in the luxury furnishings market. The Business Development Manager will strategically locate new business, develop relationships, and build a lasting partnership. The Business Development Representative will grow the reputation, industry penetration, and product sales in the Manhattan and Long Island territories.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of outside sales/business development experience.
- A demonstrated track record of success in business development, particularly within the luxury furnishings market (textiles, fabrics, furniture).
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, Databases, and HubSpot.
- Network, relationships, or memberships in NEWH, IIDA, ASID, AIA, and IDS.
- Experience in initiating, cultivating, and sustaining strong, mutually beneficial relationships with the A&D community in these territories.
- A deep understanding of interior design principles, fabric specifications, and the mid to high-end market in both residential and commercial (especially corporate and hospitality).
- Knowledge and experience of liaising with interior designers, architects, specifiers, purchasing agents and other design-based groups to deliver commercial and contract hospitality projects.
- Strong track record in generating consistent sales revenue and the ability to exceed sales targets.
- Impeccable professionalism in all interactions with clients and co-workers.
- An ability to act as an ambassador for the company, continually exceeding client expectations of our products and customer service.
- An ability to identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, relationship building and a drive for results.
- An ability to manage projects from start to finish—precise communications with clients, co-workers and management to ensure accurate invoicing, production and timely delivery.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to clients, events, conferences, etc. when needed.
