In North America, Business France opened offices in strategic locations, next to the most vibrant markets. Our network of over 100 employees operates from 5 central offices (New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, Montréal) and 4 outposts (Los Angeles, Boston, Detroit, Houston). Working closely together, we organise promotional events, accelerators, French pavilions, or directly work with entrepreneurs in the most promising markets. Join us today!

We are seeking a Business Development Consultant to complete our international export team, based in New York. This person will oversee French wine and spirits companies looking to develop their activities in North America. At least 2 years of relevant experience in the agribusiness sector with a focus on alcoholic beverages is an asset.


Your missions

- Identify opportunities and trends in the US market with a focus on the South of the US for French food packaged goods companies

- Advise French companies on their business & marketing strategies in the US and coach them on the North American business culture

- Prospect potential US partners according to the need of French companies: target, prospect and organize business meetings

- Participate to the organization of trade missions of French companies in the US during trade shows or business conventions

- Develop a strong network of professionals and decision makers in the alcoholic beverages sector

- Your role will be to facilitate business and communications between two cultures and ensure that both parties have a clear understanding of the projects at hand


Qualifications

- BA/BS preferably with relevant majors: business and/or marketing

- Dual English/French fluency required (written and spoken).

- Excellent communication skills

- Strategic analysis

- Knowledge of the agribusiness sector required

- Project management skills and ability to multi-task

- Ability to expand & manage a network of contacts through networking events, conferences, and 1-on-1 meetings

- Self-starter, dynamic, comfortable working in a small team environment

- Ability to work independently as well as in team with local, national, or international partners

- Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision

- Proficiency with all MS Office applications

- Good understanding of the Economic Development/Trade Promotion environment
