Equities.com is seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, with a focus on selling sponsorship, sponsored content, and digital advertisements to ESG Mutual Managers and Independent Financial Advisors.


Responsibilities

  1. Lead Generation and Prospecting: Identify and research potential clients, including ESG Mutual Fund Managers and Independent Financial Advisors (whose business is focused on ESG, Women, or LGBTQ), to build a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
  2. Sales and Business Development: Develop and execute effective sales strategies to promote Equities.com's sponsorship, sponsored content, and digital advertising offerings. Conduct outreach, schedule meetings, deliver compelling presentations, and negotiate favorable terms.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.
  4. Market Research and Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new business opportunities and tailor your approach accordingly.
  5. Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with the marketing, content, and sales teams to align efforts and ensure seamless execution of campaigns and initiatives.
  6. Reporting and Analytics: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and closed deals. Analyze performance metrics and provide regular reports to management.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. 
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably the financial services or advertising industry. Connections or contacts within the mutual fund industry are a plus.
  3. Knowledge: Strong understanding of the financial services industry, particularly ESG investing and independent financial advisory practices. Familiarity with digital advertising and sponsored content models is a plus.
  4. Skills: Excellent communication and presentation abilities, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build rapport with clients. Proficiency in using CRM software and data analysis tools.
  5. Mindset: Entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated, and driven to achieve ambitious sales targets. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events.
