Our client, a fast-growing private equity firm, is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Business Development Analyst to join their team. In this role, you will play a critical role in identifying and sourcing new investment opportunities. This is an opportunity to work closely with a tight-knit team of investment professionals in a growth-oriented, dynamic firm. Given the flat nature of the organization, this individual will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the continued growth of the firm while gaining tangible experience.


Responsibilities

  • Source and qualify new investment opportunities across B2B software, tech-enabled services, managed services, and industrial technology.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, develop compelling investment theses, and identify potential investment opportunities.
  • Initiate outreach and develop relationships with key stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, executives, intermediaries, and other relevant professionals to expand deal flow and sourcing capabilities.
  • Analyze financial statements and other business metrics to evaluate the attractiveness of potential investments.
  • Build and manage a pipeline targeting both platform investments and add-on acquisitions, utilizing CRM software to track progress and key metrics.
  • Provide analytical support and insight to senior investment professionals, including preparation of investment committee memos and presentations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of M&A processes including sourcing and deal structuring.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a financial services organization (preferably a background or knowledge of private equity, investment banking, or relevant sales/business development experience, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and internal team members.
  • Willing to be creative and to take a thoughtful and scrappy approach to developing deal flow.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Passion for private equity and technology
  • Driven and self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and can-do attitude.
  • Ability to juggle, prioritize, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
