Business Developer - Northeast

Position Profile:

As the outdoor living trend continues to accelerate, architectural designers are placing renewed focus on the creation of beautiful and well-maintained parks, terraces, and outdoor leisure spaces. This important societal shift is increasing our customers’ demand for high-quality architectural outdoor lighting and furniture solutions. With the introduction of BEGA Furniture in July of 2023, we are now able to fully capitalize on this opportunity and adjacent market. As a Business Developer your responsibility is growing and optimizing our outdoor furniture business within your assigned territory. Primary levers to achieve this goal will be establishing and developing meaningful relationships with customers, suppliers, and current BEGA sales partners. Ultimately you are responsible for increasing revenue specific to furniture sales through brand building, product promotion, specification development, project management, customer support, and the ‘entrepreneurial spirit’.


Knowledge & Experience:

• Successful completion of BS/BA degree in sales, marketing, business, engineering, or a relevant field.

• 3+ years’ experience in the construction industry, outdoor furniture industry, and/or related sales and marketing activities. Preference will be placed on individuals who have prior work experience with furniture solutions.

• Candidates with professional training, industry certifications, and/or advanced degrees are preferred.

• Demonstrates a deep working knowledge of the construction industry, furniture industry, lighting industry, and/or their channels to market.

• Must have strong problem-solving skills, an analytical approach to all tasks, a critical-thinking mindset, and the ‘entrepreneurial spirit’.

• Must be self-motivated and capable of handling a remote work environment.

• Must have the capacity to learn and navigate software programs, digital systems, and business systems quickly.

• Possesses the desire, capacity, and toolset necessary to drive continuous improvement.


What you’ll do:

• Promote and build the BEGA Furniture brand in your assigned territory.

• Develop new sales opportunities, drive specification development, close sales, and increase local market share.

• Nurture and maintain existing relationships while driving new customer acquisition.

• Build trust and confidence with all relevant customers through world-class support and service. Customers are defined as, but not limited to, design entities (ex: landscape architects), construction entities (ex: general contractors, landscape contractors), furniture dealers, developers, and current BEGA sales partners (lighting representatives).

• Provide local project management support from awareness and specification through installation and post- sales.

• Drive adoption and engagement of the BEGA Business System (BBS).


Position Dimensions:

• Required to be remotely located in the Northeast United States with a strong preference for New York City.

• Regular time in territory for your assigned territory will be necessary (up to 70%).

• Regular travel outside assigned territory will be necessary (up to 20%).

• Ability to lift and safely handle large-scale furniture samples.

• Ability to safely drive a sprinter van.
