Business Continuity Disaster Recovery Manager - New York, NY (FTE/Direct-hire)

Optomi, in partnership with a client that works across various industries (healthcare, IT, financial services, media, etc.) is looking for a BCDR consultant focused mainly around Disaster Recovery initiatives to start! This is a large enterprise environment, so this Consultant will help support and enhance key processes related to business continuity (BC) and disaster recovery (DR). This role will assist in developing, maintaining, and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions, including risk and gap assessments, business impact analysis, strategy selection, and documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures in coordination with the various stakeholders.

Job Description/Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the enhancement of BC and DR key business processes supporting various businesses
• Assist in continuity and recoverability event management including writing, performing, and testing exercise plans (tabletop exercises), including analyzing related documentation for completeness
• Create and revise business continuity, disaster recovery plan and business impact analysis (BIA) documentation, including business-specific scenario plans
• Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements, ensuring that the IT Infrastructure Disaster Recovery Plan supports the respective application/business recovery plans by performing business impact analyses and establishing Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
• Support the client with BC/DR audits, including providing relevant documentation
• Complete business continuity and disaster recovery reports for management, regulators, and clients
• Assist with training associated with BC and DR
• Effectively interface with global IT and business partners to provide guidance and support

Ideal Candidate will Possess:

• Industry standard certification(s) such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Business Continuity Management (BCM) or other relevant certifications in BC/DR highly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of Business Continuity related work experience, including five years of experience developing and maintaining an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Proven experience working in a large global environment with a variety of clients/customers and technical teams in a complex and dynamic environment, while working with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with managing operational risk, experience with cloud strategies is a plus
• Experience with Continuity Logic or a similar platform automating BC/DR processes
• Attention to detail, verbal and written communication, initiative, and motivation to learn
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and self-motivated with proficient planning and organizational skills; able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and changing priorities
