SUMMARY: Responsible for small business loan production by partnering with Branch Managers, Commercial Loan Relationship Managers, and other contacts within the Bank. Position is responsible for generating revenue by originating new loan outstandings and cross-selling other bank products and services through active portfolio/client management, individual prospecting efforts of non-client businesses, networking, as well as referrals from business partners. Actively build and maintain strong client relationships as well as develop, maintain and strengthen internal partnerships through consistent and thorough communication, as well as timely responsiveness.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Generate incremental commercial loan volume from small business clients with aggregate loan relationships of less than $400,000
Pursue and manage referrals generated from internal and external sources
Prospect new relationships from businesses not presently clients where the loan exposure will be less than $400,000
Assist Branch Managers in prospecting efforts and identifying and closing small business loan opportunities
Utilize FAST to uncover client and prospect needs and match to Farmers National Bank’s products/services; obtain required information and financial data, and educate Borrowers on the process, rates, and fees
Responsible for sales relationship management activities including the identification of specific referral opportunities such as Treasury, Insurance, Trust and Investments
Sell business products and services to commercial customers and prospects as opportunities occur or required by management, typically through personal calling efforts or internal/external referrals
Assist in analyzing the credit worthiness of commercial borrowers and make recommendations for extending credit
Monitor risk in loan portfolio and take appropriate action to indemnify and minimize credit risk; effectively manage collateral and documentation exceptions
Maintain portfolio delinquency at levels acceptable to management
Interact with operational and technical areas to resolve client issues
Adhere to all appropriate Loan Policy and service standards
Oversee preparation and execution of legal documents for loan closings
Draft Proposal and Commitment letters; make sales presentations to clients and prospects
Travel to multiple retail banking offices and client homes/offices on a regular basis
Complete all mandatory and elective training, including BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) and Anti-Money laundering procedures. Maintain compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations.
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential requirement of this position

Education And/Or Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Finance/Accounting
NMLS certification may be required (or obtained upon hire)
Minimum of three (3) years loan origination and/or credit analysis experience; Formal commercial credit training preferred
Working knowledge of commercial credit structures and underwriting guidelines
Strong sales ability and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal/people skills
Thorough knowledge of bank products and services
Strong verbal and written communication ability for external and internal presentations
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet navigation/research, and Outlook is expected
