Why We Need You - The Mission

Founded in 1980, SMA Technologies specializes in automation and analytics software solutions. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a tenacious and collaborative Business Analyst to support our Finance and cross-functional teams.

The Problems You Will Solve

Reporting to our Director of Finance, the Business Analyst will partner with Finance, Revenue Operations, Legal and Accounting to drive crucial analytical efforts. This role will also build and maintain collaborative relationships to enable these teams to meet customer and company needs.

How You'll Get There

Within your first 3 months, work cross-functionally to become familiar with SMA’s systems, processes, and policies:

  • Take on data and process analysis as directed
  • Develop a baseline proficiency in SMA systems and be able to self-serve data and other reports
  • Provide deal structuring and quoting analysis and support to our global sales team

Within your first 6 months, become the subject matter expert on SMA deal constructs, pricing, and approval policies:

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in process, data, reporting and provide recommendations
  • Develop and document consistent monthly process required to deliver key responsibilities
  • Be a creative problem solver who finds a way to meet internal and external customers’ needs while adhering to SMA's selling policies

Within your first 12 months, lead process redesign and automation to enhance the business and project experience:

  • Manage business analyst projects through the lifecycle, including discover, initiation, analysis, development, testing, implementation and post execution analysis and reporting
  • Perform critical analysis and work closely with business partners to identify core business and deal issues and propose possible solutions.
  • Automate/simplify processes where appropriate across all SMA systems as it relates to operating our business and improving the customer experience

Analysis/Reasoning: You are someone who can examine data and quickly draw conclusions, identify issues, and solve problems. You love to break down complex information into digestible parts and find patterns or themes in an array of related information.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. High level of stress. Sedentary, sitting, walking, infrequent lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
