PMO Business Analyst


The PMO Business Analyst is responsible, as part of a project team, for new IT systems delivery, discretionary maintenance, and enhancement releases and updates.


Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, gather, and document business requirements for projects, processes, or systems
  • Analyze gathered requirements to identify patterns, trends, and inconsistencies, ensuring that they align with business goals and objectives
  • Document business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and process flows to communicate effectively with stakeholders and development teams
  • Communicate with stakeholders to identify business requirements and manage relationships between stakeholders from different departments or levels of the organization to ensure consensus and alignment on project objectives
  • Utilize data analysis techniques and tools to analyze trends, and patterns from business data to assist in validating patterns in processes
  • Identify business problems, challenges, and opportunities through analysis and propose innovative solutions or process improvements to address them
  • Identify and analyze risks associated with proposed solutions or changes and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential negative impacts on the business


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical discipline, or commensurate work experience, is required
  • 5 years of Business Analysis, or related work experience, required
  • Certifications such as the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Proficient in requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Share Point)
  • Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Microsoft Sql Server Management Studio, Datadog)
  • Financial industry experience preferred
  • Occasional travel required for training and/or project work with external stakeholders and project team members may be required
  • Periodic after core hours, night and weekend work is required in relation with system testing, upgrade, and implementation activity
  • Attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment


Physical Demands


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, visualize, talk, hear, and handle or touch objects or controls. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.


This position is an office-based position where you must be able to sit for long periods of time. The employee will be working on a computer 90% of the time.
