Business Analyst - Analytics & Insights

Job Purpose:

The Business Analyst will support the data team in internal and external engagements, focusing on Microsoft Copilot projects, product reporting, Internal analytics projects, and establishing Business Analyst standards for data requirements. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to gather critical requirements, document them, obtain necessary approvals, and assist in developing go-to-market strategies. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for the management and optimization of the A&I Demand Pipeline (agile process). The ideal candidate will have experience in working with data teams and a familiarity with data tools and SQL.

Essential Functions:

  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to understand business needs and objectives.
  • Conduct meetings and workshops to gather detailed requirements from stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure ongoing alignment and support.
  1. Requirements Gathering and Documentation:
  • Collect and document detailed business requirements for data-related projects.
  • Create clear, concise, and comprehensive requirement documents and business cases.
  • Ensure that requirements are aligned with business goals and are feasible for the data team to implement.
  1. Requirement Validation and Sign-off:
  • Present requirements and proposed solutions to stakeholders for review and approval.
  • Obtain formal sign-off on requirements to ensure mutual understanding and agreement.
  • Address any concerns or changes requested by stakeholders promptly and effectively.
  1. Agile Board Management and Optimization:
  • Ensure that all requirements are instantiated within the agile process laid out by A&I leadership both internally and externally.
  • Work in concert with A&I team members to ensure up to date readouts of sprint timelines are forthcoming.
  • Innovate and improve upon existing agile processes for increased efficiency in delivery both internally and externally.
  1. Support Microsoft Copilot Engagements:
  2. Assist in the coordination and documentation of requirements for Microsoft Copilot engagements.
  3. Ensure that the business needs are accurately translated into technical specifications for the data team.
  4. Product Reporting:
  • Develop and maintain standards for product reporting and data requirement documentation.
  • Work with stakeholders to define metrics and KPIs for product performance.
  • Ensure that reporting meets the needs of the business and provides actionable insights.
  1. Collaboration with Data Team:
  • Act as a liaison between the data team and business stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and understanding.
  • Ensure that the data team has a clear understanding of business requirements and priorities.
  • Support the data team in developing and implementing solutions that meet business needs.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for improving business processes and data practices.
  • Recommend and implement changes to enhance efficiency and data quality.
  • Monitor the impact of changes and make adjustments as necessary.
  1. Support Go-to-Market Strategy:
  • Assist in the development of go-to-market strategies for new analytics products and services.
  • Provide business insights and support to ensure successful product launches and adoption

Education:

  • Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses:

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) - Preferred
  • PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) - Preferred
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) - Preferred
  • Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) - Preferred
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) - Preferred
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) - Preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt - Preferred

Experience:

  • 7-10 Years
  • Experience working with data teams and familiarity with data tools and SQL.
  • Proven ability to gather, document, and communicate business requirements effectively.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and ability to manage multiple resources within a sprint-based delivery model.
  • Experience in managing stakeholder relationships and obtaining requirement sign-offs.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed requirement documents and business cases.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality best practices is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
