Reports to: Broadcast Director

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, may work nights, weekends and overtime

Job Summary: 

Our company is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Broadcast Engineer who is knowledgeable about a variety of esports titles on different gaming platforms. We are looking for an individual who can utilize live streaming to capture and convey compelling storylines in high-stakes events, content, and games.  


offbrand is a small, agile company, and you may be expected to be able to help out with a variety of other responsibilities outside of those detailed below.


Responsibilities:

Broadcast Engineering

  • Create, plan, and document end-to-end signal flows
  • Design and build show operator workstations and solve technical requests
  • Visualize, plan and execute show/event buildout
  • Delegate and triage tasks to adhere to tight timelines
  • Interface with third-party vendors and venue reps for off-site events
  • Troubleshoot issues; calmly developing and executing solutions under pressure, all while clearly documenting steps taken & subsequent results
  • Quickly deliver post-show high quality recordings (program feeds, camera ISOs, multitrack audio, etc)
  • Own broadcast infrastructure maintenance & improvement (performance, documentation improvements, intuitive interfaces for laymen users)
  • Manage equipment needs: determining rentals/purchases, vendor outreach & soliciting quotes, and managing inventory

Audio Engineering

  • Ensure low-latency crystal clear audio quality & redundancy capture a wide variety of signals including but not limited to: microphones, PCs, game consoles, music/video playback, DANTE
  • Integrate multiple intercom/VOIP systems, party-line & users on a need-to-know basis

Video & Encoding Engineering

  • Optimize signal flow of video signals, ensuring a synchronous, high-quality endpoint product
  • Integrate CG overlays seamlessly to enhance viewing product using a variety of graphics software
  • Route a multitude of video signals to a wide variety of broadcast equipment, monitors, and endpoints



Qualifications and Skills:

  • Self starter and independent worker
  • Ability to work and communicate with a team of 5-15 people 
  • Ability to write technical documents
  • Ability to work under pressure and stressful situations
  • Organized and detail oriented 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to use Google Workspace programs
  • Must have critical thinking skills


Bonus:

  • Experience within esports, gaming, or entertainment 
  • Experience with Monday.com or similar project management tools
  • Experience with Video/Audio Purpose Build Hardware (Blackmagic Ecosystem, Behringer/Midas X32/M32) 
  • Experience with VoiP programs (Discord, vdo.ninja, vMix Call)
  • Experience with remote access software (Teamviewer/Parsec)
  • Experience with live streaming software or tools (Twitch, OBS Studio, vMix, Streamdecks)
  • Experience with CG overlay software (CasparCG, GT Designer, XPression)
  • Experience with Broadcast Oriented Protocols & Programming (Bitfocus Companion, HTML/JS/CSS, vMix Scripting)
  • Understanding of networking (VLANs/subnets, static IPs, multicast flows, port forwarding)
  • DANTE certifications or equivalent experience
