Broadcast Engineer
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering/Computer Science.
- A passion for investigating issues, driving towards resolutions and effective problem solving
- 3+ years of experience in a support/analysis role.
- 5+ years of experience in a 24x7 On-Air or similar type of environment.
- 3+ years of experience with IT infrastructure such as LAN, WAN networking, SANs, and archive technology.
Day to Day:
Our client has an opening for a broadcast support engineer in the Operations and Technical Services group. They will be onsite 4x a week, one of those days being on a weekend. This position will be part of a dedicated 24x7 team tasked with supporting and maintaining this facility and operation, including immediately addressing on-air and critical issues as they arise. And help to implement and support future proof solutions as new technologies continue to change the broadcast environment. This person will be asked to investigate issues within broadcast playout systems and their integration points to find the root cause of problems or systemic issues. Assist in the deployment and testing of patches or fixes from vendors both in the Development environment as well as the Production environment until completion and to the satisfaction of the Operations team. Assist in the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. Provide 24x7 On-Air systems support and daily operations support; some overnight shift-schedule support may be required from time to time during on-air rollout and special broadcast events. Attend daily maintenance and operations review calls to report back to leadership and Operations on findings from new and open issues and their potential fixes and planned deployments of those fixes.
