Are you a strategic-thinking graphic designer with strong branding and print process knowledge? Do you have the ability to direct the creation of materials that are attuned to the overall brand strategy, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment? Our client, a global airline, is seeking an experienced Chicago-based Branding Graphic Designer to support key business strategies and reflect the direction of the Creative Leader. Taking inspirational direction from the Art Director, you will develop creative and innovative designs for collateral, marketing materials, product packaging, advertising, direct mail, etc.
Portfolio Note: In order to be considered, candidates must have 2+ years’ experience at a design agency, or a comparable employer (large, corporate environment) in a similar role, and recent samples of professional design work demonstrating strong knowledge of the print process and skills in branding, logo and typography.
You Will:
Focus on fast-paced designs for both print and event campaigns
Execute all design stages from sketches, to concept, to final production hand-off
Analyze, digest and convert request into a strategic concept and visually interesting design
Conceptualize and design original ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services, including branding, logo development, illustrations, infographics, etc.
Demonstrate the ability to provide design of complex pieces ranging from internally campaigns to externally viewed multi component campaigns
Lead multiple design projects concurrently and shift priorities as required to meet business requirements and deadlines
You Have:
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) emphasis on graphic design or similar graphic arts related degree
2+ years’ experience at a design agency, or a comparable employer (large, corporate environment) in a similar role
Knowledge of print production process
Very strong logo and branding skills
The ability to present creative strategy, critically evaluate creative briefs and exercise a high degree initiative and independent judgement
Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Ability to out-put simplified and targeted design solutions through excellent typography and layout skills
Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team
Demonstrable team collaboration skills, and high level of emotional maturity
Proven ability to impact an audience with creative solutions
Ability to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Logistics:
Projected Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 6 month contract with possibility for extension
Hours/Week: 40 hours per week, 9am – 5pm CST
Onsite/offsite: Hybrid, 8 days in office per month
Background/Drug Screen Check needed? Yes, must clear before contract starts
Pay Rate: $30-40/hour DOE
