The Bazooka Companies, Inc. is seeking a Brand Manager in Innovation for our New York City headquarters.

With iconic brands including Ring Pop, Push Pop, Bazooka Bubble Gum, & Juicy Drop, BCB is one of the leading manufacturers & innovators of non-chocolate confections in the US geared towards kids and kids at heart.

The Brand Manager role is on the Innovation team which oversees new product development across the portfolio, a strategic priority for BCB. Our goal is to develop compelling innovation that seeks to make the world a bit more fun. Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Innovation, the Brand Manager will make tangible contributions to the Bazooka Companies through:

  • Owning specific initiatives aimed at driving the business, including pioneering exploration and development of white space innovation areas. This will encompass
    • Partnering with internal teams and inventors to develop new product ideas
    • Managing and leading market research studies to drive insights across a wide variety of needs, concept writing and creative/graphic development of new product ideas
    • Managing project timelines in collaboration with cross functional teams to make sure key projects milestones are met
    • Working closely with the cross-functional team and vendors to commercialize new products and set up the correct supply chain
  • Contributing to creating the brand vision & strategy for cross-portfolio innovation, inclusive of the Back of Store and Ecomm channels
  • Contributing, managing and executing annual business plans for ownership areas to ensure efficient & effective use of resources
  • Assisting the Director in driving the assigned businesses to meet revenue & profit targets; including preparing marketing presentations and documents to facilitate management approvals
  • Regular reporting to senior leaders on progress and alignment for strategies and execution
  • Monitoring & analyzing business performance in IRI and e-commerce data platforms, including identifying trends or white spaces and developing action plans
  • Budget tracking and invoice management
  • Mentoring junior marketing professionals

  • Experience identifying white space opportunities and translating insights into focused strategies and action plans
  • Demonstrated track record of commercialization execution
  • Demonstrates strong accountability, collaboration, responsiveness without letting anything drop
  • Proven ability to create strong stories and presentations for and present to senior leadership, retailers and others
  • Ability to work with internal group or agency to develop compelling graphics and creative work
  • Sound analytic skills including IRI analysis (or Nielsen)
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative market research
  • Experience with Amazon marketplace commercialization best practices inclusive of product positioning and pricing dynamics
  • Strong financial understanding including budget management, costing and P&L management


Education/Experience

  • 4-5+ years CPG brand management
  • Kid-focused, Confectionary, or Snack Food experience a plus
  • E-Commerce experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required
