OVERVIEW

The Brand and Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing brand marketing initiatives to enhance the Jenner & Block’s external presence, as well as crafting and implementing internal communication strategies to foster a positive and informed workplace culture. The ideal candidate will have a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to effectively promote the brand both internally and externally.


Reporting to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMC), the Brand and Internal Communication Specialist will build internal and external storytelling strategies to showcase the innovative legal work, thought leadership, talents, and journeys of Jenner & Block’s lawyers and business professionals. In collaboration with internal stakeholders, the Specialist will design and implement employee engagement strategies that deliver on the employee value proposition and equip them to serve as brand ambassadors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the SMC Director to develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications and employee engagement strategy.
  • Manage the firm’s internal communications channels, including its monthly internal newsletter, internal announcements, and maintaining up-to-date content on the firm’s intranet.
  • Collaborate with operational department leads to ensure internal communications are cohesive and aligned with the firm brand and internal communications strategy.
  • Write and edit compelling content for both internal and external audiences, including article summaries, firm announcements, newsletter stories, and social media updates.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the firm’s brand voice and messaging guidelines.
  • Work closely with lawyers and other colleagues to gather information and create accurate and informative content.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of the firm’s corporate social responsibility annual reports, as well as annual thought leadership reports, including ensuring content deliverables are met on time and within scope and liaising with creative partners on video needs and content layout.
  • Develop marketing content to support the firm’s brand and client development needs, as assigned, including firmwide marketing materials; office and practice brochures; attorney biographies; sponsorship ad copy; and recruiting collateral.


QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUISITES

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a marketing or communications role, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns and internal communication strategies.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and brand building.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to prioritize work, work within competing deadlines, and manage and direct work effort of external resources.
  • Strong knowledge of core marketing principles.
  • Strong verbal, written, and technological skills (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Asana).
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills; able to adjust style, voice, and tone to appeal to targeted audiences; attuned to nuances conveyed by information.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to align to big-picture objectives.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work product.
  • Ability to exchange information and to present ideas, report facts and other information clearly and concisely.
