JOB OVERVIEW:

The Brand Director oversees all aspects of brand management, from messaging to market research, ensuring consistency and resonance across all channels. This role demands leadership, creativity, and a deep understanding of consumer behavior to drive brand growth and awareness effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase market share, brand recognition, and consumer engagement for our Almondmilk products.
  • Business Management: Maintains responsibility for Profit and Loss management for our Almondmilk business; provides business updates to Blue Diamond Growers’ Executive Leadership team.
  • Brand Management: Oversee the development and execution of brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all marketing channels.
  • Campaign Management: Lead the creation and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, print, and in-store promotions. Measure and analyze campaign performance to optimize results.
  • Collaborate with Sales Partner: Work closely with our external production and sales partner to align marketing strategies, coordinate trade promotions, and ensure seamless execution of selling initiatives for our Almondmilk products.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape. Utilize data to inform marketing strategies and business decisions.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with the product development team to innovate and enhance the almond milk product line, ensuring it meets consumer needs and preferences.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, and retail partners, to drive business growth and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
  • Public Relations: Function as a spokesperson for the almond milk product line, managing media relations and public communications to enhance brand reputation.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Promote and integrate sustainability practices within the marketing and business strategies to align with company values and consumer expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the food and beverage industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in P&L management and responsibility; either for a Brand or Product Line.
  • Proven history of successful brand management and market growth, plant-based or dairy alternative sectors preferred.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Experience working with agencies (advertising, media, packaging, etc.) & external partners (development, manufacturing).
  • Results driven.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive strategic decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Passion for sustainability and knowledge of current trends in the plant-based industry.

Office demands include extensive use of telephone and computer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position highly collaborative and at times demanding; time may be spent working outside of office. Travel required 10% of the time. This is a hybrid role based out of Sacramento, CA with at least 2 days per week on-site (in Sacramento).
