Board Member

The Women's Center of Greater Lansing is dedicated to providing valuable, innovative resources and services in an inclusive and supportive environment for women of all backgrounds. We empower women to achieve financial stability and independence through personalized services such as resume and cover letter creation, interview preparation, budgeting sessions, application assistance, and counseling. Our holistic approach focuses on the overall well-being of our clients, encompassing their physical, mental, and emotional health. We strive to support and strengthen every woman who enters our center, fostering intellectual, social, economic, and emotional growth.

This is a volunteer role as a Board Member for the Women's Center of Greater Lansing. As a Board Member, you will actively participate in meetings and decision-making processes related to the organization's strategic planning, policies, and operations. You will collaborate with other board members, contribute expertise, and support fundraising efforts to ensure the sustainability and growth of the Women's Center. This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance at in-person meetings in Lansing, MI, with flexibility for some remote work.

• Experience in non-profit management, governance, or leadership roles
• Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial oversight
• Strategic thinking and planning abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Passion for advancing women's rights and empowering women
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team
• Experience in fundraising and donor cultivation is a plus
• Knowledge of local community resources and networks
• Ability to attend regular in-person meetings in Lansing, MI
