Family Promise of Greater Denver| Board of Directors, volunteer leadership 

The mission of Family Promise of Greater Denver (FPGD) is to form relationships with families at risk of or experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, meals, and a spectrum of supportive services as they obtain permanent stability. Position Overview:

Are you passionate about serving our unhoused neighbors? Do you believe that every child should have a safe place to call home? Consider helping families in our community while building your leadership skills by applying to be on the Family Promise of Greater Denver Board of Directors.

Essential Duties:

We are in search of 4-6 new members with specific skills and experiences including, but not limited to:

• Financial management and controls

• Fund development

• Board development

• Marketing and communications

• Facilities/building management

• Lived experience with homelessness/past program participant

• Legal – specific to housing, real estate, and property management

• Information technology

We are looking for new board members who have connections with:

• Corporations

• Small businesses

• Philanthropy

• Media

• Social services

Board Member Expectations:

The FPGD Board meets at 4:30 pm on the last Monday of every month except July and December. We ask our members to commit to at least 8 of these 10 meetings. The meetings typically run about one and a half hours. We try to meet at least once per quarter in person.

The Board is also comprised of 3 sub-committees:

Development - focuses on marketing, fundraising and donor relations

Finance - provides oversight and direction on the organization's finances and financial policies

Governance - reviews and updates organizational policies and documents

We require that each Board member participate on at least one of these committees. The committees meet monthly in addition to our board meetings.
