Overview

Axle is seeking a highly ambitious, adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented Biologist to join our vibrant team to provide services in support of the overall functions of the Office of Director (OD), Division of Intramural Research (DIR).

Technical Requirements

• Provide support to all health research conducted in Mali and ensure that clinical trial sites are operational at all times.
• Assist with overall logistical, operational, and administrative aspects of all NIAID/lntramural initiatives under the direct supervision of the Director of the Research Support Office.
• Assist with international/domestic travel office, shipping and customs clearance, and a Guest house and the Budget and Finance office responsibilities which, include accounting coding and fund disbursement management.
• Serves as a financial specialist logs incoming checks, and provides fiscal coding and translation for vouchers. Maintain collections and billing logs and follows up with staff for collections.
• Assist the motor pool manager with the various vehicle requests of a 150-person, 10-project American government research program summarizing these varied requests into a monthly motor pool use chart.
• Assist guest house manager and staff, which includes, but is not limited to, ensuring pick up of guests, reserving rooms, ensuring that meals are prepared and rooms are cleaned, and providing proper internal controls in the guest house accounting and funds disbursement.
• Manages the activities for all program conferences, including scheduling and maintenance of the logistical requests of the conference/workshop organizers.
• Assist the Logistics Administrative Assistant who is responsible for the reception and tracking of all shipments that go through two different methods of reception: through the US Embassy and through the Mali Service Center. Ensures that the cold-chain is maintained for shipments of temperature-sensitive reagents, medical and clinical supplies, and vaccines.
  
  

Specific Qualifications

• BS degree or 5 years of work experience is equalivant to BS degree.
• Minimum of five (5) years of work experience is required.
• Effective and clear communication skills and the ability to work in a high-stress environment.
