Biller - Medicare FT - Remote | WFH

Job Purpose: The Billing & Collections Representative ensures compliance with medical billing and claims processing guidelines throughout the billing and collections lifecycle. Responsible for timely submission of claims, processing insurance payments, and managing patient liabilities for assigned clinics.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Training: High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Required Licenses/Certifications: None.

Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing, including knowledge of healthcare coding protocols.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Demonstrates respect and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.

Submits claims weekly for assigned clinic, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Manages all account correspondence, including patient contact for overdue balances and payment arrangements.

Coordinates with clinics on medical necessity issues.

Meets with patients or their representatives to review financial summaries and arrange payment plans.

Monitors daily charge rejection reports and collaborates with clinical teams to resolve issues promptly.

Follows up with insurance carriers on unpaid claims, including filing reconsideration requests with necessary documentation.

Conducts account reconciliations and generates monthly billing statements.

Adheres to established policies, procedures, quality assurance standards, and safety protocols.

Participates in educational programs and departmental meetings.

Performs additional duties as assigned.
