IMI programs create brand value and opportunities with consumers while driving food and beverage sales and profits for our Hospitality Operator clients.

 

Job Description:

 

We have an opening for a creative, well-organized, and forward-thinking Beverage Director of Development to join a leading lodging hospitality group. This person will implement and drive creative drink ideation and educational programming and training across the client’s brands. This Beverage Director of Development will be overseeing and executing complex activations and bar brand marketing and merchandising initiatives for the client’s corporate beverage program. This person will consult with beverage program leads for the client’s Select Service to Full-Service properties, including direct education of on-site waiting-staff. This person will also oversee and organize the execution of creative know-how materials, manage internal and external communication for trainings and schedules, coordinate and host on-site and virtual property and staff meetings, trainings, drink activations, and develop beverage databases, all while assisting in various beverage projects as needed.

Given the high visibility of IMI Agency within the Chain Hospitality Operator, Beverage Supplier, and Beverage Distributor B2C and B2B communities, along with the ethical, transparent, and legally compliant ethics of our company, all IMI representatives must be intelligent, mature, well-polished, trustworthy, and have a high standard of ethics and leadership. You must have confidence and class in carrying out IMI's and the Client's mission, but also know how to take constructive feedback and implement the necessary changes in performance and work, based on that feedback. You must dress and carry yourself in a manner that is superior to the standard, along with speaking and writing clearly.

Responsibilities:
  • Create Bar Education platforms ranging from Select Service to Full Service.
  • Set-up, Train, and Educate bar and waitstaff via in-person and virtual trainings.
  • Consult with client beverage team on corporate beverage program.
  • Develop and implement corporate cocktail database(s).
  • Work with local teams on brand marketing and merchandising of bar products.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop new bar and beverage programs for both existing and new build properties.
  • Develop working conceptual bar and beverage programs as needed for new owner concept overviews.
  • Streamline projects to maximize deliverable outputs.
  • Report project results and risk to management – escalating issues as needed based on the project plans.
  • Prioritize tasks and assignments ensuring all responsibilities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist in planning large-scale meetings and conferences. Coordinating and selecting locations, agendas, workshops, food & beverage, etc.
  • Accurately track and report beverage developments and implementations
  • Requires 70% travel at a minimum


Education & Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field
  • Experience in large scale Hospitality or Supply Chain Beverage Activations and Trainings
  • Extensive knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry, related products, and the three-tiered system
  • Demonstrated creative experience with implementing beverage promotions
  • Proven professional mixology and beverage operations experience
  • Comfort in making complex business decisions
  • Proven track record of high-level mixology and craft cocktail creation
  • Successful track record of complete high-level Project Management duties
  • Maintain budgets and records of expenditures; reported frequently
  • Experience communicating effectively with all levels of management and staff, including high-level stakeholders and waiting staff
  • Speaks and writes clearly and concisely
  • Able to work with different management styles as needed
  • Takes initiative and is a part of the solution to issues and problems that arise
  • The ability to multi-task handling several projects simultaneously
  • High Level of experience analyzing data, instituting program or project changes based on sales, and creating program metrics to measure results
  • High-energy interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor
  • Successful supervisory and/or employee management track record
  • High proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with analyzing data, instituting program or project changes based on sales, and creating program metrics to measure results
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and work under minimal direction
  • Hospitable, with a service-prone, client-first mentality
  • Follow-up and follow-through must be your mantra
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • SharePoint experience preferred
