Benefits Specialist

Company: Leading Insurance Organization

Location: Remote - Preference for PST/MST Candidates

Type: 6+ Month Contract

Rate: $29-35/Hourly

Responsibilities:

• Administer employee healthcare benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits
• Handle employee orientation, benefit communications, enrollments, terminations, and changes
• Reconcile carrier payments for healthcare benefits
• Respond promptly to employee inquiries and concerns, including those via Jira
• Address escalated issues from the benefits help desk
• Review, audit, and process weekly and monthly benefit carrier invoices and claims
• Ensure accuracy of enrollment and coverage information across all platforms
• Collaborate with benefit portal vendor site for issue resolution and attend troubleshooting meetings
• Manage life event enrollments, terminations, and changes
• Communicate COBRA benefit information to departing employees and notify parent-employees of over-age dependents
• Process requests for verification of benefits and court-ordered dependent health coverage actions
• Develop and maintain benefit-related procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
• Conduct employee benefits orientation for new hires, including scheduling benefit vendor representatives
• Support open enrollment activities such as vendor site testing, portal updates, and communications
• Log and communicate PTO-sharing (Friends Helping Friends) donations
• Assist with Human Resources metrics information and provide backup support for Total Rewards functions
• Support HR projects and initiatives

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience working in HR Benefits Administration
• Knowledge of HR & Labor Laws
• Excellent Project Management skills
• Excellent presentation, verbal & written communication skills
• Excellent skills in Word and Excel
