About the job:

Kent is looking for a Benefits Specialist to be based in Houston, TX.

You will provide support to the Director, Total Rewards - Americas to administer employee benefits for the United States and Canada. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of all Health and Welfare and Retirement plans in both countries. Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration of company benefit programs including, but not limited to, the following: retirement, healthcare insurance, life, disability and COBRA. Performs reconciliation of all benefits costs and payroll deductions. Supplies data/reports for benefit audits.
  • Process monthly benefit invoices and bi-weekly retirement and health savings account funding to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Interface externally with insurance carriers (medical, dental, life, AD&D), auditors and consultants.
  • Communicate benefits programs/offerings to all employees directly or through HR Business Partners.
  • Coordinate all new hire enrollment activities and assist with the annual Open Enrollment process. Interface as needed with new employees to assist in benefit enrollment.
  • Coordinate benefit changes due to employee life or work events.
  • Examine employee records to answer employee inquiries and provide information to authorized persons.
  • Compile data from Payroll and HRIS systems and prepare reports for consultants and governmental compliance as needed
  • Maintain various data feeds between internal and external benefit systems to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Coordinate with employees, leave administrator and Payroll to administer all medical and protected leaves.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet company goals.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • High School Graduate with two to five years related experience and/or training.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health, welfare and retirement plans.
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ACA and COBRA regulations.
  • Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now Payroll and Benefits platform strongly preferred.

Skills Requirement:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels within the company.
  • Excellent analytical skills for reconciling invoices and analyzing benefits data.
  • Demonstrated strong excel skills with attention to detail with extreme accuracy.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential employee information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Team oriented, approachable and works well with other.

Communication:

  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills required.
