Job Summary: Manager, Payroll and Benefits is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll and benefits administration within the organization. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced professional who can ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of payroll and benefits processes while contributing to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives related to employee compensation and benefits.


Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to reconcile payroll-related accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Stay abreast of changes in payroll regulations and ensure the organization's payroll practices remain compliant.

Benefits Administration:

  • Manage the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs.
  • In partnership with HR Business Partners, communicate and educate employees about benefits offerings, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of available options.
  • Work with benefits providers to negotiate contracts, resolve issues, manage benefit funding and invoice management, and optimize program offerings.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing payroll and benefits.
  • Generate regular reports and analysis related to payroll and benefits data for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance.

Strategic Planning:

  • Support the organizations strategic objectives, which includes merger and acquisition activity.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements and enhancements to existing payroll and benefits programs.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align compensation and benefits practices with organizational goals.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of payroll and benefits professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide guidance on complex payroll and benefits issues and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPP, CBP) is a plus.
  • Proven experience of 5-10 years in payroll and benefits administration, with a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in payroll and HRIS systems, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
