Statement of Purpose: The Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing mental health or emotional challenges. They work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment plans, offer support, and empower them to achieve better mental and emotional well-being. This position works closely with the BH Specialty Programs Manager under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health and Specialty Programs. We are inspired by what we achieve alongside our patients and are proud members of the community we serve!Midland Values:Recognize and affirm the unique and intrinsic worth of each individual.Treat all those we serve with compassion and kindness.Act with absolute honesty, integrity, and fairness in the way I conduct my business and the way I live my life.Trust my colleagues as valuable members of our healthcare team and pledge to treat one another with loyalty, respect, and dignity.Essential Functions:Promotes and practices MidlandCAN, LLC's mission and values and follows its policies and procedures.Ensures confidentiality is maintained by entire team regarding patient/client information in accordance with HIPAA, professional and departmental standards.Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health and emotional well-being.Use diagnostic tools and criteria to formulate accurate diagnoses.Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.Collaborate with clients to set realistic and achievable therapeutic objectives.Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychotherapy, or other modalities.Help clients develop coping skills and strategies to manage their mental health challenges.Address and manage crisis situations, providing immediate support to clients in distress.Collaborate with emergency services or crisis teams as needed.Work to destigmatize mental health issues and promote mental health awareness.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals, to provide comprehensive care.Consult with colleagues to discuss complex cases and seek input for treatment planning.Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessment reports.Adhere to ethical and legal standards in documentation.Conduct educational sessions and workshops to promote mental health awareness and prevention.Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about new therapeutic techniques and research.Practice self-care to prevent burnout and maintain personal well-being.20. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, audio visual, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical Requirements:Neat, professional appearance.Sedentary- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly in lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.Requires expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, visual and auditory acuity.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This position may require additional time above normal operating hours and on occasion weekend work.Travel:Travel is primary during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
