Behavioral Health Practitioner

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Behavioral Health Practitioner to join our Melrose Center Team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Practitioner provides care to patients experiencing eating disorders, mental illness and/or substance use disorders and their families using de-escalation skills, group dynamics and facilitation. This includes assisting with crisis management, therapeutic programming and milieu management as member of the care team. This role is instrumental in addressing emergent and urgent issues as needed.
Work Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Required Qualifications:
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:- Must meet the criteria for "Behavioral Health Practitioner" in at least one of the following ways: - Holds a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness.
- OR holds a bachelor’s degree and has at least 6,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness, preferably in eating disorders.
- OR is a graduate student in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and is formally assigned by an accredited college or university to an agency or facility for clinical training.
- OR holds a master's or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university.


- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet’s motor vehicle violation criteria.
- Behavioral Health Practitioner as defined by MN statute.
- CPR certification

- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Strong human relations, leadership, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively problem solve and make sound decisions.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
- This position provides psychotherapy to patients and requires Park Nicollet to comply with the Minnesota Statute 148A.
- Ability to operate electronic health record, EPIC, and ability to use spreadsheet and word processing applications.
