Banquet Manager - $60,000 - $70,000/year

The Banquet Manager will be involved in the daily management and oversight of breakfast, lunch, and dinner venues for group/banquet events. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience within a full service event space, country club, or hotel/resort operation. Selected candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of prior hands-on service experience, ideally within a fast paced, high volume environment. This hospitality professional should also have experience with Micros or other similar Point of Sale system. Competency with Microsoft Office is also required. Excellent communication skills are essential to this individual's success, along with a proven ability to supervise a large service team. Flexibility of schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary.

Daily supervision and direction of banquet service staff. Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of quality standards for banquets. Interact with guests to ensure a positive guest experience.

Ensure that meals are being served in a professional and timely manner by circulating within the event and communicating with the kitchen. Handle guest complaints. Monitor and supervise set up and maintenance of room service area to ensure that it is up to standard.

Ensure availability of manpower, supplies, and equipment to ensure positive guest experience. Assist in hiring, scheduling, supervision and control of captains, greeters, servers and housepersons.

Attend pre-shift meetings and conduct ongoing training of employees to ensure that employees continue to improve their performance.

Assist in the completion of reports on production and necessary requisitions. Assist in regulation of distribution of necessary supplies.

May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
