Bank Teller - Full Time - Urbana

Purpose

This Teller position is responsible for providing quality customer service by accurately processing transactions in a professional and courteous manner and in accordance with bank and regulatory policy and procedure.

No prior banking experience is required to step into success in this Teller role!

Accountabilities

Essential responsibilities include:

• Accurately processing customer transactions, including, but not limited to counting cash, accepting deposits, and processing withdrawal requests.
• Our Tellers promote bank products and services, including recognizing opportunities for referrals to Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, and other lines of business.
• Participating in sales campaigns by educating customers on the benefits of the targeted products and services.
• Providing excellent customer service when assisting customers with accounts and other related inquiries.
• Providing administrative support to other retail and lending staff to meet the needs of the customer and assist in the sales efforts of the facility.
• Tellers must adhere to bank policies, procedures, and controls over customer transactions, cash, and security.
• Effectively and fluently communicating with customers, co-workers, and other business contacts within a culturally diverse work environment.
• Developing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels by proactively participating and contributing to a positive work environment, controlling emotions and temperament, and exhibiting courteous, respectful, and professional behavior.
  
  

Additional Responsibilities Include

• Staying abreast of company policies and procedures by attending and successfully completing all mandatory corporate and departmental training. Inclusive of, but not limited to, Annual Sensitivity Training, and Compliance Training.
• Processing new account transactions, including but not limited to, completing related documents, data input, receiving the initial deposit, and providing cash station/debit cards.
• Answering and routing incoming calls appropriately.

Required Skills And/or Education

We expect our Bank Tellers to have knowledge of math and accounting practices consistent with that normally obtained through a high school degree, or equivalent, is required. Skills and abilities sufficient to perform the essential functions--such as data entry, basic mathematical calculations, and communication skills --are required.

Preferred Skills And/or Experience

Approximately three months to one year of experience in banking or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in using computer software for typical office applications is also preferred.

Nature And Scope

This position is a regular full time or part time position on a schedule established by the supervisor. Overtime is occasionally worked to meet the demands and deadlines associated with the position. Occasional travel is required to conduct the essential functions of the position (bank training, meetings, etc.). The work environment involves the use of typical office equipment such as telephone, computer, facsimile, etc. in a controlled climate.
