Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Exercise and promote safety
- Set up and operate extruding press, using aluminum billet to produce ordered shapes, meeting specifications, dimensions and specific weight
- Perform die changes in required time, adjust speeds and temperatures for product uniformity and quality
- Inspect products for defects
- Check dimensions with micrometers and calipers making necessary adjustments
- Maintain production and downtime records throughout the shift
- Additional duties as assigned
- Minimum Education: HS diploma or GED
- Minimum Experience: 3 months’ experience at UAC
- Certifications Required: Crane certification; Forklift certification; Lock-out/tag-out certification; Pallet jack certification (certifications completed during new hire orientation)
- Communication Skills: Must speak, read and write English
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Reasoning Skills: Good reasoning and decision-making skills; ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; ability to learn how to operate complex machinery
- Physical Abilities: Required to stand 100% of the time; regularly required to reach with hands and arms; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at any time; handle hot metal and tooling; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
- Schedule: 3rd shift
