Role Overview: As the AVP, Data Governance Lead, you will be instrumental in defining and implementing data governance frameworks, ensuring the integrity, security, and quality of our data assets. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce data governance standards and best practices across our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Data Governance Framework: Develop and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework comprising policies, standards, and best practices for data management, security, privacy, and compliance.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure all data governance activities adhere to stringent security protocols and regulatory requirements. Implement measures to protect sensitive data and mitigate risks.
• Data Quality and Integrity: Establish mechanisms to monitor and maintain data quality and integrity across all data sources and systems.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data engineering, data science, product management, and compliance teams to align data governance strategies with business objectives. Foster collaboration and communication across teams.
• Metrics and Monitoring: Define and track data governance metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular audits and assessments of data governance processes to identify areas for enhancement and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Education and Support: Provide guidance, training, and support to business units and stakeholders on data governance policies, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements:

• Experience: 10-15 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles within the fintech or financial services industry. Proven track record of developing and implementing data governance frameworks and strategies.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices. Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies is preferred.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection laws.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications in data management or data governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP, CIMP) are a plus.
