Job Objective
The Quality Specialist is responsible to assist the Accountable Manager / Quality Assurance Manager with the development and implementation of the ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9110 Aerospace Standards as well as maintaining the program once implemented.
Essential Functions
Ensure the company's quality management system aligns with the stringent requirements of of ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9110 Aerospace Standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish, maintain, and continuously improve our quality management system
Develop and review documentation, including policies, procedures, and work instructions, to ensure alignment with AS9100
Conduct internal audits and assist in external audits to validate compliance
Identify opportunities for process enhancement that align with AS9100 principles
Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformances and improve overall quality
Analyze potential risks to quality and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent issues and ensure continuous improvement
Participate in investigations into quality-related issues, utilizing methodologies such as 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams to identify root causes and develop effective solutions
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager and procurement team to evaluate and monitor suppliers
Develop and maintain quality performance metrics, generating regular reports for management to assess the effectiveness of the quality
Actively participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that quality objectives are met or exceeded
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)
Knowledge of ISO9001 (AS9100 a plus) standards and quality management systems.
Strong knowledge of quality principles, tools, and methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis)
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and draw meaningful
conclusions
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and training
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Quality Management, Engineering, or similar) or equivalent work experience
Experience working with ISO 9001 / AS9100 / AS9110 standards and quality management systems within the aerospace or related industry
Physical Demands
Prolonged sitting and computer work
Work Environment
Air-controlled office
Occasional outdoor-type environment with potential extreme cold and hot temperatures as well as moderately loud machine noise
Work Status, Schedule, & Travel
Full-time
40 hours per week, 7:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am – 12:00 pm on Friday
