The Black Horse Pike Regional School District has an opening for an AV and Computer Technician at Highland High School for the 2024-2025 school year.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree required and New Jersey teaching certification preferred.
  • Post high school experience in electronics, stage lighting and sound reinforcement discipline, video production, digital technology, Microsoft Network, and all related equipment and software.
  • If no teaching certification is present then a County Substitute Certificate is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments and school personnel.

REPORTS TO: Instructional Technology Coordinator

Job Goal

The AV & Computer Support Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance/repair or replacement of audio-visual, television, and video equipment. It is his/her job to keep up with the latest technologies regarding these areas and recommend upgrades and provide trainings as necessary. He/she will assist all staff in the production of educational and public relations programs. He/ she will work independently, and in conjunction and collaboration with the Supervisor of Technology, Senior Network Support Specialist, Network and Computer Support Technician, Network Support Specialist, to create, support, and maintain technology equipment, including teacher, administrative, supervisory, and support staff computers and related technology equipment.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Follow established policies and procedures developed by the Principal, District Supervisor and Central Administration.
  • Maintain a current inventory of all audio and visual and computer equipment, as well as, an inventory of all LCD projectors, LCD Bulbs, Document Cameras, SmartBoards, and Interwrite boards.
  • Set up the laptops and/or technology equipment for all Board of Education meetings.
  • Perform preventive and routine maintenance on audio-visual equipment and technology equipment as assigned.
  • Train teachers and students in the operation and use of audio-visual equipment and materials
  • Assist, when needed, with technical aspects of activities and events emanating from the school television studio or remote locations into the classrooms.
  • Responsible for after-school, evening, and weekend events, conferences, and school functions as requested by building Principal.
  • Technicians will perform the normal routine care and loading and un-jamming of photo copiers. He/she will also maintain a list of copy usage by teachers and report these numbers to the District Supervisors and building principal monthly. In addition, he/she will be responsible for reporting needed supplies to maintain the operation of the copiers.
  • Check the school district’s technology service and repair request system routinely and address, in a timely fashion, any repairs, maintenance, and services
  • All other duties associated with maintaining, purchasing, installing, and repairing technology equipment including audio-visual equipment and all computer related equipment.
  • All other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months plus 20 days between July 1 and August 31, renewal

each year by formal action of the Board of Education.

Per policy 4125, the district will give preference to qualified individuals who are residents of the Black Horse Pike Regional School District.
