We are seeking an Auxiliary Power Engineer to join our team! If you have experience working on auxiliary power designs on substations or power plants, we encourage you to apply!


**Remote with 20% travel both locally and internationally to customer meetings and project sites***


Responsibilities:

  • Develop criteria for Synchronous Condensers, FACTS, and substations auxiliary power systems.
  • Design Single Line and Three Line Drawings for AC and DC systems.
  • Compile load lists for substations and FACTS projects.
  • Prepare design and RfQ packages for MCC, MV Switchgear, and LV Panelboards.
  • Size auxiliary power transformers, battery banks, UPS, and battery chargers.
  • Create technical specifications for AC and DC equipment, including transformers, ATS, panels, stabilizers, UPS, inverters, and safety switches.
  • Conduct Arc Flash and Voltage Drop studies.
  • Develop Cable lists, Cable Schedules, and Panel schedules.
  • Support the definition of auxiliary power approaches for proposals.
  • Perform conduit filling calculations for auxiliary power cables.
  • Generate auxiliary power equipment bills of materials.
  • Review manufacturer's documentation and develop engineering execution plans.
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs and report risks to the Project Engineer.
  • Support Marketing and Project teams during project execution and customer meetings.
  • Mentor entry-level engineers and provide technical advice.
  • Identify and propose solutions to potential project issues.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience working on auxiliary power design of substations/power plants.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, NFPA standards, IEC standards are a plus.
  • Must have experience using AutoCAD
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and MicroStation are a plus.
  • Proficient communication skills
