Automation Control Engineer

Job Description :

Infosys is seeking an Industrial Automation Lead. This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design; play an important role in creating the high level design artifacts; deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty; be part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Jefferson City, TN or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require 20% travel in the US.

• Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent, will consider work experience in lieu of a degree.

• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience

• Experience with Industrial Automation

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience in Proficiency in programming PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens etc.), HMIs, and SCADA systems. Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control panel design.

• Design and Development: Develop and design control systems for automation, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, and other control hardware and software.

• Programming: Write, test, and debug PLC and HMI programs to control automated systems and processes.

• System Integration: Integrate control systems with existing machinery and equipment, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.

• Proficiency with Kepserver

• Project Management: Lead automation projects from concept to completion, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating resources.

• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve control system issues, providing technical support and maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.

• Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all control systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.

• Compliance: Ensure all automation systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.

• Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with a strong analytical mindset.

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.

• Certifications: Professional certifications in automation or controls engineering are a plus.

• Experience with robotics and vision systems.

• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and IoT.

• amiliarity with CAD software for designing control panels.

• Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to diverse teams, including technical, business, and management teams.

• Ability to work effectively in a team within a diverse, multi-stakeholder environment.

• Strong analytical, communication, and client interfacing skills.

• Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
