Position Overview
The Audiovisual (AV) Technician - II is an experienced professional in the construction and AV/IT trades, responsible for executing tasks in accordance with project plans. This role requires minimal direct supervision, allowing the technician to work independently while ensuring high standards are met. Responsibilities and duties extend beyond those listed and may be modified as needed to align with project and business requirements.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of experience installing AV/IT systems
Valid state installation license and/or certificate as required
Valid State Driver's license
Ability to attain and maintain AVIXA CTS certification or
enrollment in a State Certified Apprenticeship program within two years of hire
Powder actuated tool certification
Proficiency with AV/IT trade tools and construction equipment (scaffolding, lifts, hoists, pulleys, etc.)
Basic computer skills, including Windows and MS Office
Knowledge of AV system setup and installation techniques
Proven experience with AV equipment installation (speakers, flat panel displays, projectors, projection screens)
Responsibilities
Meet company performance and work standards; practice quality installation techniques
Inform the Foreman or Project Manager of any changes to scope, schedule, and costs
Report job progress and issues at the end of each workday
Maintain and update record set drawings
Complete wire pulls and equipment installations according to specifications
Test all equipment post-termination to ensure system performance
Assemble, install, and repair equipment, materials, and systems as directed
Review project documentation and work orders; seek additional information if necessary
Protect and secure equipment and materials on the worksite
Maintain a clean and safe work area; protect interior finishes from dust and damage
Gather equipment manuals and unused installation materials for the Project Manager at job close
Attend site construction meetings when necessary
Ensure project physical completeness according to plans, drawings, and specifications
Follow OSHA and management safety standards
