Become part of a highly motivated and active team that produces live entertainment on the legendary Starlight Theatre stage. The Starlight Production Department is seeking an Audio/Visual Technician to assist in multiple technical theatre aspects of live performances- including our summer season of Broadway musicals and concerts, Starlight Indoors in the fall and winter, virtual projects and corporate and private events. This will be a full-time, salaried position that will work year-round. The Audio/Visual Technician should be a self-starter who is project oriented and can multitask with deadline constraints. Critical skills include creative problem solving, attention to detail and interpersonal communications, to go along with a high level of technical theatre knowledge of the audio, video and lighting areas, with an emphasis on audio systems and programs. Essential Functions & Duties:
Operation of audio and lighting consoles and systems.
Oversee facility audio systems for events.
Setting up stage equipment to include fly-rail operation.
Basic video camera and projector/LED operations.
Focusing and programming lighting instruments.
Facility and systems maintenance and installation.
Occasional supervising of union labor.
Weekend and evening hours required. Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. in technical theatre minimum preferred
Professional experience in event and theatre production
Ability to work at heights and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Familiarity in Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and QLab
Ability to use AutoCAD or Vectorworks is a plus
Knowledge of wireless microphone systems
Basic electricity and wiring Bonus Skills/Knowledge of:
