Audio Visual Field Engineer (Northern Virginia/DMV or Cape Coral, FL or Dallas, TX)

We are excited to offer a great career opportunity for an Audio-Visual Field Engineer to join our growing team at DSI Tech. As an Audio-Visual Field Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the Audio-Visual team of one of the most successful technology solution providers in the nation. The ideal candidate will reside in the Northern Virginia/DMV, Cape Coral, FL, or Dallas, TX area. The role requires approximately 60% travel, and the candidate must be eligible to work in the USA, as sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Review and respond to RFP and RFI documentation provided by Federal, State, Local, and/or Educational Institutions
  • Complete site evaluation to determine client requirements and design specifications
  • Installation, configuration, and commissioning of audio-visual equipment, including projectors, displays, speakers, microphones, video conferencing systems, and control systems
  • Expert Knowledge of audio and video signal flow and routing, projection scaling, and audio gain structures
  • Review final designs and manage the technical work in the field with little supervision
  • Diagnostic troubleshooting of final systems to identify and resolve operating problems during installation and commissioning
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and onsite or remote support for installed AV systems, including software updates, firmware upgrades, and hardware replacements
  • Generate detailed reports on installation activities, troubleshooting, and maintenance services.
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to verify that installed systems meet client expectations and project requirements
  • Programming AV equipment and components
  • Proficiency with Extron GUI Designer, GCP, Global Scripter, PCS and Toolbelt, Crestron Toolbox
  • Fundamental understanding of cable rough-in and termination methods and procedures for all AV connections
  • Ability to read Architectural and schematic diagrams (System and Building Drawings)
  • Work on ladders, lifts and works overhead in a construction environment
  • Proper labeling and cabling management techniques
  • Knowledge of construction techniques for installation purposes
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Word and Excel

Required Experience

  • AV Engineer experience 5+ years
  • Proven experience in AV system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Proficiency in programming AV control systems: editing, debugging, and loading code (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC.)
  • Knowledge of audio and video signal processing, distribution, and routing
  • Audio DSP programming and gain structure (Biamp, Extron DMP, QSC Core)
  • Crestron and Extron Nomenclature
  • Network Topology, IP addressing, Multicast Systems
  • Certifications: CTS (CTS-I or CTS-D preferred), Crestron DMC-E, Extron AV Associate, Biamp Tesira Forte
