Dolby Laboratories creates audio, video, and voice technologies that transform entertainment and communications in mobile devices, at the cinema, at home, and at work. Dolby Laboratories is now equipping the cinema world with its new Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos technology under the premium cinema experience Dolby Cinema.

The successful candidate will help support Dolby’s active content creation environment. From the Dolby Vision grade or the Dolby Atmos mix, through mastering, quality check and exhibition, the candidate will gain insight into all the key stages required to produce and support playback of industry leading content.

We provide the motion picture post-production and exhibition markets with technologies and services. This position has shared roles & responsibilities within our Content Services and Technical Operations teams. Including:

  • Approval and alignment of select studios where Dolby theatrical soundtracks are mixed.
  • Support of Dolby audio renderers and encoders for approved studios.
  • Attending final mixes (“printmasters”) of films.
  • External screening services for top film industry events (premieres, press screenings, cast and crew screenings, etc.).
  • Screening support at our state-of-the-art Dolby Vision & Atmos cinema in the heart of Midtown, New York City.
  • Support for Dolby Atmos content creation in the home entertainment market including music, film and episodic content, gaming, and automotive audio.

Daily tasks may also include:

  • Demonstrations of Dolby Technologies
  • Special event support
  • Content creation and QC (Quality Check)
  • Video & Audio cabling and routing
  • Basic IT / Network support
  • Inventory management & logistics

The role could have irregular evening and weekend work, where applicable.

Eligibility

Working towards a bachelors or master’s degree in Marketing , Film , or a related field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply. Must be available to work part-time or full-time Monday–Friday for 6 months starting from September 23, 2024 - March 13, 2024

Start date for the internship is as follows: (*note* this date is not flexible)

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $29-40/hr and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific hourly range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
