The Athletic Trainer, Certified, provides the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, (including first aid) and reconditioning as set forth by the Athletic Trainer’s Board of Certification and Ohio Athletic Training laws. The Athletic Trainer follows Athletic Training procedures as established by the Standard Operating Procedure.
The Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) provides rehabilitation treatments, patient education, and maintenance of appropriate patient records under the direct supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine and performs such delegated tasks as are commensurate with their education and training while in the Sports Medicine Department and Ohio Athletic Training laws.
Education, Training & Experience
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in health-related field, with current Athletic Trainer’s Board of Certification
Currently licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the State of Ohio.
CPR Certification is required by the American Heart Association.
Must be computer-literate to complete task(s) as required. Such as MediTech (Hospital Support Software), Halogen (performance appraisal system), Relias (education system), ability to retrieve emails, complete online enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs as assigned.
